In some few months, Africa has been plunged into an epidemic which is seriously affecting the continent, with many tourists and travelers refusing to travel to West Africa in fear of the deadly disease; Ebola.

A disease which was first discovered in Guinea returned some few months ago killing thousands and gradually spreading to neighbouring countries with Liberia being the current African country to be hit by the plague and recording the highest number of deaths so far.

Some few days ago, a raid was started and an angry mob stormed a health facility for Ebola patients in Liberia and made away with items in the health facility. In the process, many Ebola patients had to run for their lives. Initially, this was denied by the Liberian government but when things got out of hand, they announced that, some of the patients that run out of the facility have not returned after the situation has been calmed down. This means, more people could be infected.

So far, many African countries are closing their borders to countries with reported cases, with some countries also tightening their security on immigration.

Upon all this brouhaha, a well known musician in Ghana who goes by the name, Barima Sidney has decided to go shoot his music video on Ebola in Liberia. He has clearly stated that he’s not afraid to shoot his video in Liberia and wouldn’t even mind doing it close to the patients or hugging and shaking them, because he believes they are being stigmatized.

So far Ghana has not recorded a case of the virus yet and so the government is doing all that it could to prevent the disease from entering the country.

A source close to the president has revealed  that, when the president got wind of this news, the statement he made was and we quote:

“Ne Kwasia! )k) a, ma ontu ne nan nsi kurom ha biom’ , )k) fa yaree no abre hwan wo kurom’ ha?” which literally means,

“That foolishness of his, when he goes, he shouldn’t step a foot back into this country again, who is he going to bring that sickness to, in this country?”

This statement created some laughter among staffs who were close to the president at the time but he wasn’t smiling, indicating he was serious about the issue and commanded that, he be stopped from traveling to the country and if he still insists on traveling, he shall be ostracized from the country never to return. It will be better for him to naturalize as a Liberian when he finds himself there. The president also plans to ship his family to him if he is adamant on traveling to the country.

The president after giving the command added, “Nsemfuu a kwakwa, Cholera kuraa ye nhu so, wo ko fa Ebola abe ka ho” which is translated as, “Nonsense, we’ve not been able to even fight Cholera yet and you want to add Ebola to the task”

The source also disclosed that, Barima Sidney is already in the bad books of the president after his Donkomi song which attacked the work of the president. The vice president who was seated close to the president also added his voice to the discussion by saying, “op3 s3 )b3b) eno nso donkomi wo kurom’ ha, nka y3 gyimi”

A statement about this will soon be released to the press if he attempts to travel.
