Ten suspected armed robbers have been arrested by the Upper West police.

They were arrested on separate operations embarked on by the police.

They have also mounted a search for a notorious criminal who trains criminals in the Municipality.

According to the Upper West Regional Police commander, DCOP Kwesi Mensah Duku, the past three months have seen an increase in criminal activities in the region.

The hardest hit areas were the Wa Township, Kojokperi and Funsi.

The police have made inroads in the aforementioned areas and made several arrests.

DCOP Duku said in order for the police to succeed in their mandate of maintaining law and order, they need the support of the community.

Despite the success chalked in arresting the alleged ten criminals, the police still have an eye on one.

They refused to comment on the two police officers who are before the Wa circuit court accused of defiling a fourteen year old primary six pupil.
