1 Daylight robbers nabbed at 37 on Tue Apr 26, 2016 12:22 pm

The swift intervention of the National Highways Patrols from the police headquarters yesterday led to the arrest of two men who were using an unregistered motorbike to snatch people’s bags at the 37 Military Hospital area.

The arrested suspects are Mumuni Abu, 21 years and Albert Laryea, 20 years.
They were said to have successfully attacked three victims earlier, before their arrest after attacking their fourth victim around 7am yesterday morning.

The two suspects and their motorbike were sent to the police Criminal Investigations Department headquarters for further investigations.

A police source at the National Highways Patrols told DAILY GUIDE that they received a distress call that the two suspects who had pitched camp at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) area were snatching people’s bags from them using their motorbike.

Police proceeded to the scene but upon seeing the police, the suspects attempted to escape but with the assistance of residents living in the military barracks, the two were apprehended by the police.

The four ladies bags they had snatched from their victims were found on them (suspects).

Later, a lady followed up to identify her bag and to report that she was part of those attacked by the suspects.

The rest of the bags contained mobile phones, monies, and personal belongings.

The suspects were later handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department for further investigations.
Individuals who were attacked can visit the CID headquarters to assist in investigations.
